I can’t believe this day has finally arrived! Launching this blog represents a true dream of mine coming true. My love for fashion and beauty has been in my blood from a young age. I can’t attribute this passion to anyone other than my mother; she has been so influential in helping me hone my taste and my style for 21 years. She’s also responsible for my obsession with lipstick.
Why I Started Never Without Lipstick:
I created Never Without Lipstick to not only express my perspective on style but to also share how to choose clothing and beauty products that, above all else, truly make you feel beautiful.
What to Expect:
The following style rules are those that I have learned and try my best to live by when it comes to fashion. These are what I will always stay true to on my style blog.
- Wear only what makes you feel 100% confident, comfortable, and beautiful. There is no reason to ever be uncomfortable in what you’re wearing because that can ruin your day or a really good party. Your clothes should leave you feeling confident to tackle whatever is in your way.
- Be smart with your style investments: invest more in the pieces that will last and be the foundation of many, many outfits. Your style is an investment and a very important one at that. My mantra is to wait for what you want – don’t spend your money on a piece that doesn’t fully satisfy what you’re wanting. I prefer to save up and pinch pennies so that I can purchase bags, jewelry, or clothing that I know will last for a long time and be of a quality that I trust.
- Allow your style to be your ideal first impression to the world – let it truly reflect your personality. Don’t wear just anything because you think you’re supposed to or because it’s trendy. Wear what suits your personality and leaves you feeling the most like yourself.
- Let models be models. I wish I could take the pressure off of women to feel the constant need to achieve a body type only a small percentage of the world has. Modeling is a career and models must look a certain way for aesthetics and the art of fashion, but normal people don’t have to! Now I’m not saying I haven’t struggled with my fair share of body-shaming and wishing I could just look like a runway model. But I am dedicated to being real with you guys about dressing myself to flatter my body type and to give honest advice when it comes to how clothes really fit. At the end of the day, this is the body we have and we only get one, so let’s love our bodies and dress in a way that is flattering and leaves us feeling confident!
I couldn’t be more excited to take this blogging journey with you guys. Let the adventure begin!!
