A reader sent in a recommendation for this post (feel free to send in YOUR post recs or overall suggestions by taking this survey here), and it could not be more perfect for the weather in some warmer climates. With the temps playing yo-yo into the warmer, it’s hard to know exactly what to wear! Some days, I’m just swallowing my pride and adding in my bright red ski coat with everything because no other coat seems to be warm enough. But then there are days like today when it feels like a cooler spring or summer night. Mother Nature’s indecisiveness leaves me thinking…what do I wear?! I wish Mother Nature would just consult my closet for me! The weather is saying, “sure, throw on shorts and a tee,” but the season-appropriate fashion rule-follower in me is saying, “but…it’s January, A.K.A. winter.” So today’s outfit post will satisfy that voice in your head reminding you it’s “winter” while also keeping you cool in the warmer winter weather.
There’s really no better way to stay on season in winter with warmer temperatures than with a peasant-sleeve, boho dress! This one stays on season mainly with its color as well as its ability to pair nicely with lots of other winter staple colors: think gray, camel, black, nude, brown to name a few. I love this dress because it feels appropriate for winter while being so lightweight and cool with it’s eyelet detailing. I highly recommend dresses like this one in neutral or bold winter colors that can pair easily with your winter shoe lineup. Being able to add in some flat OTK boots solidified the look as a winter one without leaving me overheated during the day. If you’re going for an even cooler look, don’t cover up too much and throw on a pair of low-heeled mules or booties (I’ve been living in these lately!) with your dress! And if it gets windier or back to more like actual winter temperatures, put a suede or leather moto jacket over the dress to keep you warm.
