So last night I went to Nordstrom to pick up my purchases that were available for in-store order pickup! Seriously such an amazing thing, guys. It took all of 5 minutes and it was surprisingly very calm in the store when I was expecting pure chaos, but that might be coming on July 21st 😉 It was SO NICE to have looked at the items online Thursday morning and then be picking them up and seeing them IRL just a few hours later. And like any normal human I, of course, came home and immediately started trying things on.
Now it’s time for the real honest truth. As is the nature of online shopping, most of the time things look differently than they do online, so trying everything on and getting to feel and hold the pieces is so important. I’m going to be doing a post later about what I kept and what I returned because I still think there are some more items that I’d like to grab from the sale to try before it’s over! So basically this isn’t the end for the Anniversary Sale and I. I’m going to share the pieces (of what I purchased and picked up last night) that I know for sure will be keeping a permanent place in my wardrobe (welcome to the fam, homies!).
I love this jacket, and she is a beauty in gray (see my firstborn of this jacket in coffee above). When I took it out of the garment bag, I whispered, “you are so pretty” to this jacket. Things are off to a good start with the two of us, just so you know. I knew I’d made the right decision when I got this jacket in a light coffee color last year, and I’ll gosh darn say I made the right decision again. This jacket is so incredibly “yummy” as my mom and I like to say. The suede is rich and high quality, the color is beautiful and versatile, and the lining is not cheapy and likely to rip. You really get SO much bang for your buck with this jacket. I highly, highly recommend to invest in this lifelong piece for your wardrobe. This jacket is definitely on the list of ones to sell out quite quickly, so I would go ahead and take the plunge with confidence on this one! You won’t find it at this price anywhere else or in stock, so act quickly.
This blogger duo featured this sweater and it sold out so quickly! So I was excited when I saw that this sweater was on sale and SO similar and SO affordable. You guys have been big fans of sleeves this season, so I can’t wait to bring that trend into the fall and winter for you to see. I am going to have to size up to a Medium because I found that this wasn’t long enough on my torso and I prefer for my shirts and sweaters to at least cover right over my hip bones. The bell cuff of the sleeve pops over a straight long sleeve underneath and falls nicely in place and isn’t too long. I think in the medium the under-sleeve might be a pinch long but I can just cuff it and no one will see because the bell sleeve will fall over it! Gals with long torsos – size up! I’ll be styling this on the blog next week so stay tuned!
This is one of the sweaters that’s a perfect canvas for so many outfits. And I always love a tunic style sweater. It has a step hem and the back of the tunic covers the booty nicely and this could so easily be paired with jeans or leggings. Throw on OTK boots with this or booties or seriously any shoe you can get your hands on. This tunic is a comfy one and it feels lightweight enough to be able to get us through Texas “fall” transitional. The cold shoulder details are such a cute added touch.
If you’ve been following along on Instagram and saw this post, you’d think that I had already found my one true love when it came to cream cardigans. However, I pulled a total college kid move (even though I’m 100% graduated) and washed this creamy cozy with my colors. I now have a pale baby blue oversized cardigan – cue the tears and reassessment of my status as an “adult. ” SO what this meant was that I was on the hunt for a new cardigan companion, and this one did the trick. I love how it has a rounded hem so that it drapes nicely over the body and the hips. It does run oversized so go true to size for a looser fit or a size down for a closer fit. I knew I wanted it to be relatively oversized, so I got a small!
Um, what about the product description of this shirt can you not like? If you’re a Texan or Southerner you know how to layer – it’s a requirement. Most of the time we don’t need jackets but we want to wear them out of the sheer frustration that we SHOULD be able to wear them because it’s OCTOBER. So when we step out into 60 degree October weather and realize our shortcomings, it’s nice to have a lightweight layer on underneath. I about lost it when I saw this tee because I loved that it was a bit more fitted (perfect to pair with high waisted jeans and a belt) and available in three #neutral colors. YES MA’AM. I got the black in a Small (I wanted a closer fit to be able to tuck it in more easily) but something has me thinking I’ll be going back for a blush and a grey.
