In just two short weeks, it’ll be time again for the annual Red River Rivalry. This will be my first time attending the game and weekend events as an alum (Hook ’em forever) – seriously crazy talk right there! Even though I’ve done this weekend for four years straight, I’m still finding myself debating what to wear for each part of the weekend. That’s why I decided to style and share four Texas/OU outfits because I know that lots of you might be on the hunt for outfit ideas for Texas/OU weekend!
I also made sure to pick affordable pieces (under $50) from places like Target, H&M, etc., because I know how expensive this weekend can be!
Let’s start with Friday night (before all the rivalry begins 😉 )…
WHAT TO WEAR ON FRIDAY NIGHT:
Whether you’re an alum and grabbing drinks with friends or still in school and heading to a bar tab with your date, a great Texas/OU outfit for Friday night is a must. The outfit I put together below features lots of fall touches (velvet and a suede-like skirt) but is also lightweight enough to keep you cool in warm, fall Texas temps.
WHAT TO WEAR FOR GAME DAY:
No matter which side you’re cheering for, you know you want your Texas/OU outfit to look good for your team! It’ll bring them good luck, right? I put together two outfits for the game. One outfit you can wear to really make it known which side you’re on. The other one gives you more of a chic vibe and would also make for a great outfit if you’re coming to the game as a “completely objective third party outsider with no personal interest in the matter.” (Name that movie! I know every line and could probably do a one woman show…) If you choose to go with the cami look, please tell me you’ll wear plenty of sunscreen!
WHAT TO WEAR ON SATURDAY NIGHT:
Win or lose, you have to finish the weekend with a bang. And that means that your evening Texas/OU outfit needs to do the talking. Why not keep it sleek, chic, and a little bit sexy?! Even though all the burgundy tones may be reminiscent of the enemy team’s colors for you Longhorns, it’s still a gorgeous fall color that’ll make for a killer Saturday night look. Both of these outfit options are lightweight enough for Texas temperatures while still being very fall-ready. If you’re heading to a post-game formal, then this velvet dress would be a great option. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing after the game, but if my friends and I decide to go out I bet we’ll be doing a lot of walking which makes me want to pick the trendy trousers outfit! Top it all off with simple, gold jewelry and a metallic clutch for just the right ensemble.
