It’s officially holiday party season! I’m so excited about shopping for holiday party dresses and sharing my favorites with you. There are lots of holiday events that come up, so you want to be best-dressed at all of them, right? (Need a gift idea for the hostess? Head here) That’s why I’m going through 6 styles of holiday party dresses that you can choose from for your needs. I also wanted to cap the price point at a more affordable spot because these events can add up quickly (like if you want a blowout, too?!).
6 HOLIDAY PARTY DRESSES UNDER $55
Perfect for the office holiday party, Friday night holiday plans, or the big party you’ve been planning your outfit for for a month.
The Wrap Dress
This fit is guaranteed to be flattering on lots of different body types. This style gives everyone a waist and has an a-line fit to just drape over your bottom half to really streamline your silhouette. I paired this wrap dress with simple accessories (hoops and block heels) because the hue and fit of the dress was so classic and didn’t need much else. However, this dress is the perfect base to get a bit more festive with your accessories. Consider a velvet pump and sparkly tassel earrings!
The Velvet Dress
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is all the velvet. It’s such a cozy fabric that adds such a luxe texture to any look. A velvet dress is the key to looking like you spent more on your look than you actually did. Just make sure to shop for classic fits/silhouettes that you know and trust to flatter your body type. That way you’re getting a fit you love in a texture that’s perfectly festive for the holidays!
The Midi Dress
I have tried to wear a midi dress many a time and can never really get into it. But the fit of this midi (for $28!) has me rethinking that statement. The midi dress is quite versatile when you think about it. This midi is elegant and conservative enough to wear for office holiday events. But you can also opt for a sexier fit for a real Hollywood glamour feel. Pair your dress with deep berry lipstick hues and strappy sandals to really nail the look.
The Maxi Dress
A maxi dress is the perfect way to go a bit more formal without having to rent or drop hundreds on a floor length gown. If you’re heading to something more formal, pick a maxi dress that has a different neckline like a halter dress or cold-shoulder fit. That’ll give your look more dimension!
The Fitted Dress
While I don’t shop for bodycon while perusing dresses very often, I like to use this season as an opportunity to take a style risk. I’d ease into it with this fitted, wrap style dress to emphasize my waist!
The Embellished Dress
A dress with embellishments makes accessorizing for your party look a non-issue. Let your dress do the talking and pair it with a block heel sandal in a classic hue like black or nude. Pick earrings that compliment the embellished details on your dress: pearl studs for this dress or pave hoops for a gold or silver dress.
